- Reading and writing homework is required for all students. Being an engaged, thoughtful, and experienced reader and writer is the best way to increase your achievement in every aspect of school!
- Writing homework:
- Approximately every four weeks, for homework students will type, print out, and turn in final drafts of various in-class writing assignments.
- Please use spell check and follow the proper format: 12 point Times New Roman font and double spaced.
- Reading homework:
- Independently read at least one grade-level novel (pre-approved by Mr. Ward) per month.
- Check out appropriate and interesting books at the local public or school library.
- Complete a four page bookmark for each book:
1.) Book Information (Total pages, Reading level, and Book Information in MLA format)
2.) Class Vocabulary Words Seen and Page Numbers Evidence
3.) Preposition + Major Settings
4.) Important Characters, Appositives, and Page Number First Seen - Complete a Book Jacket Report for each book that you finish and turn in all homework by the end of each month. (See below.)
